Grande Prêmio: Pela abordagem inovadora ao utilizar evidências e achados judiciais do julgamento do Campo de Foča em 2000, proporcionando uma experiência imersiva e experimental, ao mesmo tempo em que educativa, humanizando as vítimas e dando voz àquelas que foram silenciadas por tanto tempo. Pela estética do filme, que combina imagens encontradas e gravações amadoras da cidade em guerra, refletindo de maneira visceral a distorção da memória e a confusão que acompanha experiências traumáticas, transformando a dor em arte e criando um espaço para a reflexão e a empatia.Por confrontar a realidade da violência de gênero em contextos de conflito, apresentando uma narrativa que é ao mesmo tempo pessoal e coletiva, tornando-se um arquivo que documenta e provoca uma discussão crítica sobre justiça, memória e a necessidade de um futuro mais justo, Silêncio da Razão (Silence of Reason) de Kumjana Novakova merece ser reconhecido como o melhor filme da Competição Internacional da 15ª edição doFemina – Festival Internacional de Cinema Feminino.

Prêmio Especial do Júri: O Sonho da Sultana (El Sueño de la Sultana).Animação de requintada exuberância visual enquadra a busca de uma artista espanhola por um mundo comandado pelas mulheres – sem revanchismo. Os homens? Em casa, de boa! Afinal, vivem em Ladyland. Inspirado em livro indiano de 1905 escrito, obviamente, por uma mulher: Rockeya Hossain. Namastê!

Melhor Direção: O que pertence a César (Ce qui appartient à César). Impressiona a precisão e a delicadeza com que Violette Gitton nos conduz por uma situação complexa, aproximando-nos do olhar de seu protagonista com respeito e afeição. A segurança e a elegância com que dirige seu terceiro curta nos faz querer acompanhar de perto seus próximos passos. Que venha o primeiro longa!

Melhor Destaque Feminino: Personagem, diretora e roteirista, a escritora Christine Angot exibe rara coragem no confronto com responsáveis e cúmplices de um passado traumático: o incesto cometido pelo pai ao longo de anos. Pelo resultado desconcertante, Christine Angot, de Uma Família (Une Famille), merece o prêmio de melhor destaque feminino. Entre muitos méritos, cabe ainda destacar a interpretação de La mer por Caetano Veloso. De arrepiar!

Essa edição do Femina deixa claro o quanto as mulheres têm avançado no cinema de animação, onde parece não haver mais limites para a expressão de seus sonhos de liberdade e seus desejos mais íntimos. Por tal motivo, concordamos em conceder Menções Honrosas aos filmes A Cadela (La Perra), de Carla Melo Gampert, e Nosso Uniforme (Our Uniform), de Yegane Moghaddam, voos potentes de inventividade e reflexão.

COMPETIÇÃO NACIONAL

Grande Prêmio: Praia Formosa, de Julia De Simone pela premissa original, autoralidade, conceito e execução da direção de arte e pela qualidade das performances do elenco feminino.

Prêmio Especial do Júri: A Menina e o Pote, de Valentina Homem e Tati Bond. Pela articulação entre excelência técnica, plasticidade e narrativa poética.

Melhor Direção: Clarissa Campolina por Canção ao Longe. Pela unidade da obra, desenvolvimento de personagens, fotografia, som e montagem.

Melhor Destaque Feminino: o conjunto de personagens de Abre Alas. Pela coragem e vulnerabilidade em compartilhar suas histórias com o público, oferecendo um retrato diverso e profundo da experiência de ser mulher no Brasil.

Menção Honrosa para três diretoras que ousaram em documentários que trabalham busca, memória e identidade: Elisa Bessa por Você, Larissa Nepomuceno por Emerenciana, e Thais Carvalho por Uterus.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Grand Prize: For its innovative approach to using evidence and judicial findings from the 2000 Foča Field Trial, providing an immersive and experimental yet educational experience, humanizing victims and giving voice to those who have been silenced for so long. For the film’s aesthetics, which combines found footage and amateur footage of the war-torn city, viscerally reflecting on the distortion of memory and the confusion that accompanies traumatic experiences, transforming pain into art and creating a space for reflection and empathy. For confronting the reality of gender-based violence in conflict contexts, presenting a narrative that is both personal and collective, becoming an archive that documents and provokes a critical discussion about justice, memory and the need for a more just future, Kumjana Novakova’s Silence of Reason deserves to be recognized as the best film of the International Competition of the 15th edition of Femina International Women’s Film Festival.

Special Jury Award: El Sueño de la Sultana (Sultana’s Dream). An exquisitely visually exuberant animation frames a Spanish artist’s quest for a world ruled by women – without revenge. The men? At home, having a good time! After all, they live in Ladyland. Inspired by a 1905 Indian novel written, obviously, by a woman: Rockeya Hossain. Namaste! 

Best Direction: Ce qui appartient à César (Changing Rooms). The precision and delicacy with which Violette Gitton guides us through a complex situation is impressive, bringing us closer to the protagonist’s perspective with respect and affection. The confidence and elegance with which she directs her third short film makes us want to follow her next steps closely. Bring on the first feature film!

Best Female Participation: Character, director and scriptwriter, novelist Christine Angot displays rare courage in confronting those responsible and accomplices of a traumatic past: the incest committed by her father over the years. For the disconcerting result, Christine Angot, from Une Famille (A Family), deserves the Best Female Participation Award. Among many merits, it is worth highlighting the spine-chilling interpretation of La mer by Caetano Veloso. 

This edition of Femina makes it clear how much women have advanced in animation film, where there seem to be no limits to the expression of their dreams of freedom and their most intimate desires. For this reason, we agreed to grant Special Mentions to the films La Perra (The Bitch), by Carla Melo Gampert, and Our Uniform, by Yegane Moghaddam, powerful flights of inventiveness and reflection.

NATIONAL COMPETITION

Grand Prize: Praia Formosa (Formosa Beach), by Julia De Simone, for its original premise, authorship, concept and execution of the art direction, and the quality of the performances by the female cast.

Special Jury Award: A Menina e o Pote (The Girl and the Pot), by Valentina Homem& Tati Bond. For its articulation between technical excellence, plasticity and poetic narrative.

Best Direction: Clarissa Campolina for Canção ao Longe (Faraway Song). For the unity of the work, character development, cinematography, sound and editing.

Best Female Participation: The ensemble of characters in Abre Alas (Make Room For Me). For their courage and vulnerability in sharing their stories with the audience, offering a diverse and profound portrait of the experience of being a woman in Brazil.

Special Mention for three directors who dared to make documentaries that explore search, memory and identity: Elisa Bessa for Você (You), Larissa Nepomuceno for Emerenciana, and Thais Carvalho for Uterus.
