14^th FEMINA – INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S FILM FESTIVAL

FEMINA – INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S FILM FESTIVAL is a competitive festival for works directed by women (cis and trans). It is the first event of its kind in Brazil and Latin America. Besides showing the work of Brazilian women filmmakers, broadening its visibility and opening space for the Brazilian feminine cinema abroad, it brings to Brazil the foreign production, as well as international guests. 

This edition of the festival will take place in Rio de Janeiro, and have online screenings available exclusively in Brazil during the stipulated dates in 2023.

Regulations

 

OBJECTIVES

The Festival aims to promote films directed by cis and trans women and develop a greater reflection about gender, trying to broaden the interchange between the Brazilian and International production. The International Program will be composed of the most representative films produced since 2021.

FESTIVAL DATES

Femina – International Women’s Film Festival will take place during May 08-14, 2023, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Competitive.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. films with exhibition copies in HD file.
   
   
2. films that have been produced since 2021.

RULES FOR ENTRY

1. There is no entry fee.
   
   
2. The candidate should fulfill an entry form on the website: feminafest.com.br, providing a weblink for preview.
   
   
3. Internet: Unless otherwise requested, all information contained on the entry form will be made public on the official Festival website: feminafest.com.br. With the producer’s authorization, we will place a 30-second extract or preview of the film on the Festival website.
   
   
4. The director/producer must indicate the age rating of the film in the entry form. This information will be made public and is the responsibility of the producers of the films.
   
   
5. The candidate should upload still pictures of the film and of the director, and the original and English dialog lists. It is not compulsory to send these attachments at the moment of submission, but if the film is selected it will be required to do so.
   
   
6. All selected films will have to send an authorization for exhibition before the start of the Festival.

FILM SELECTION

The list of selected films will be announced by 08/04, 2023.

Weblinks for download of the HD files of selected films should be received by the Festival until 15/04, 2023.

JURY

The jury is composed by distinguished professionals, which will award the prizes mentioned below for the International Competition.

It is also possible that awards will be granted for works by Festival partners, such as acquisition for exhibit on streaming services or cable TV.
