As idas e vindas de Ivanilda, que durante 31 anos procurou nos arquivos sinais do seu marido, um desaparecido político, se trançam com as ações de militantes e parentes das vitimas da ditadura e da violência policial dos dias de hoje. Eles interagem entre a lembrança traumática e o esquecimento no trabalho de trazer à tona a memória de fatos recentes, revelando a seletividade da história oficial e de construir uma memória política. Pensam o passado para que se possam libertar o futuro dos fantasmas que ainda nos perseguem no presente. The comings and goings of Ivanilda, who for 31 years searched the archives for signs of her husband, a political missing, are intertwined with the actions of activists and relatives of victims of the dictatorship and police violence today. They interact between traumatic memory and forgetfulness in the work of bringing to light the memory of recent facts, revealing the selectivity of official history and building a political memory. They think about the past so that they can free the future from the ghosts that still haunt us in the present.

O documentário tem como base entrevistas feitas com jovens de classe média alta entre 19 e 27 anos sobre suas aspirações em relação ao casamento, sexo, profissão e submissão ao marido. Mesmo aquelas que se consideravam mais "lúcidas" e "modernas" mostram seu perfil mais tradicional da mulher idealizada, envolvida por romantismo feminilidade. The documentary is based on interviews with upper middle class young women between 19 and 27 years old about their aspirations regarding marriage, sex, profession and submission to their husbands. Even those who considered themselves more "lucid" and "modern" show their more traditional profile of the idealized woman, involved in romantic femininity.

The film mixes the delusions and fantasies of an anonymous character, portrayed by actress Irene Ravache, with the testimonies of eight women who were former Brazilian political prisoners and experienced torture.
